Pause Mode functionality allows you temporarily stop your experience for up to 8 minutes and then resume it. However, it’s important to know exactly how Pause Mode works on the IQOS ILUMA i PRIME device and what to do if you’re struggling to activate it.

Keep in mind:

  • Pause Mode is only available when Performance Mode is switched on in your IQOS app settings.
  • When pause is activated, Performance Mode gives you up to 2 consecutive experiences and you can only pause during one of them.
  • Pause will be available for activation within the first 3 minutes or 8 puffs of the experience.
  • The FlexPuff feature will be unavailable during the same experience.

How to activate the Pause Mode setting for IQOS ILUMA i PRIME

Before use IQOS ILUMA i Pause Mode, ensure that both Pause Mode and Performance Mode are switched on in the IQOS app. Here’s what to do:

1.Open the IQOS app on your mobile device.

2.First, go to Settings > FlexBattery > Performance Mode.

3.Then, go to Settings > Pause Mode.

How to activate the Pause Mode setting for IQOS ILUMA i PRIME

Within the first 3 minutes or 8 puffs of the experience, you can pause for up to 8 minutes using the IQOS ILUMA i PRIME Pause Mode feature.

Here’s how to start a pause:

1.Look for 2 short vertical lines at the top of the Touch Screen. These indicate that Pause Mode is available in your current experience.

2.To pause for up to 8 minutes, swipe down across the entire Touch Screen. 4 vertical lines will be displayed.

Why IQOS ILUMA i PRIME Pause Mode is not working

Possible reasons why you cannot use Pause Mode:

  • IQOS ILUMA i PRIME features not activated: Pause Mode will not work unless both Pause Mode and Performance Mode are turned on in the IQOS app.
  • Eco Mode is on: IQOS ILUMA i PRIME Pause Mode is not available in Eco Mode. Go to the FlexBattery setting in the IQOS app and switch to Performance Mode.
  • Too late in the experience: IBeyond the first 3 minutes or 8 puffs of the experience, Pause Mode is unavailable.
  • Pause Mode already used: Pause Mode is only available once during the experience.
  • Incorrect gesture: When you take longer than 0.5 seconds or use the wrong gesture, your device won’t recognise it.
  • Battery degradation: Battery degradation: There may be a charging- or battery-related issue that affects Pause Mode availability. Try resolving charging issues

  • Enable IQOS ILUMA i PRIME advanced features: To use Pause Mode, first make sure your IQOS app has all relevant modes switched on, including both Performance Mode and Pause Mode.
  • Gesture correctly and quickly: Try holding the Holder in one hand and quickly swipe up across the entire touch Screen with the index finger of the other hand. A movement slower than 0.5 seconds is not recognised.
